For many years interior designers and architects have talked about the ‘Golden Triangle’ when it comes to kitchen layout. Why? Because it considers how you prep, cook and clean in the kitchen. Below are three of the most popular kitchen designs showing the all important Golden Triangle.
GALLEY KITCHEN
Popular in Australian homes because of the open-plan layout, a Galley Style Kitchen has two parallel benchtops, generally consisting of cabinets and appliances along one wall and an island bench with a walkway through the centre.
L-SHAPED KITCHEN
This design uses two walls and is great in smaller kitchen spaces. It is excellent when it comes to incorporating the ‘Golden Triangle’ because it is generally a smaller space.
U-SHAPED KITCHEN
This layout is ideal for larger kitchens and for busy families. It allows for more storage space and one side can be bench height cabinetry to allow for a breakfast bar.
